Intellicheck Mobilisa Featured on Seattle's KIRO Radio Discussing Bar Code Scanning of Licenses for Credit Applications and Security
Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSE Amex:IDN), a global leader in access control and wireless security systems, appeared on Seattle’s KIRO radio in an interview with Linda Thomas, co-host of Seattle’s Morning News program on August 29, 2010. During the interview, Intellicheck Mobilisa’s CEO, Nelson Ludlow, explained how his company’s scanner is being used for such diverse purposes as credit card applications to military base access.
Ms. Thomas noted that many people are concerned about their identity being stolen when they fill out a credit application at a store. Dr. Ludlow assured her that scanning the bar code on the back of a driver’s license is safer and more secure than filling in a form. "What I worry about is where does that piece of paper go," says Ludlow. "What if that clerk gives it to their friend or someone else. Identify theft is a huge deal."
On her newsblog, Ms. Thomas wrote, “Security is a huge deal too, and Ludlow's company is growing on the military bases, thanks to the IM2500 Sentry Scanner, which uses the bar code or magnetic strip on drivers licenses, military IDs or passports.”
Dr. Ludlow explains on the air, "You point it at the ID card and it captures the information and runs it against either publicly available information or if it's a bona fide law enforcement agent they can actually check Washington State Patrol or FBI data," he says.
