A clinical trial is investigating treatments using a version of the virus called REOLYSIN.  Doctor Karl Mettinger, Chief Medical Officer at Oncolytics, explains: There is a unique opportunity here to use a naturally occurring virus given this way, that is shot into the body, and reach the different targets in metastatic cancer patients where the virus gets selectively taken up, replicating and building up the small factories, which then continue to replicate and kill cancer.
