Unigene Files Shelf Registration Statement

Unigene Laboratories, Inc. (OTCBB: UGNE) announced that it has filed a shelf registration statement on Form S-3 with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). Under the shelf registration statement, when declared effective by the SEC, Unigene may offer and sell, from time to time in the future in one or more public offerings, up to $30 million of equity or debt securities or any combination thereof. The Company does not have any immediate plans or current commitments to sell securities. The specific terms of any future offering, including the prices, and use of proceeds will be determined at the time of any such offering and will be described in detail in a prospectus supplement which will be filed with the SEC at the time of the offering.
